I remember my first budget: I made it immediately after receiving my initial allowance, and I thoroughly enjoyed plotting my spending each week. As I learned the complexities of personal finance, I paired practical experience in my father’s CPA office with the planning, critical thinking, and organizational skills I gained from my mother.
During university, I was fortunate to study abroad in Argentina and the Peruvian Amazon; after college, I taught English to children in Thailand and South Korea during the day while studying financial planning in the evening and on weekends. When I returned to Boise, I found a home at R|W.
I completed rigorous training and examination to earn the Certified Financial Planner™ professional and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist ℠ (AAMS ®) designations. Today, as a Wealth Advisor, I play the roles of teacher, coach, and financial problem-solver. The complexities of the changing financial climate require applying my skills with care and caution to help our clients deal with all aspects of Real Wealth: investment and retirement income strategies, liability management, non-portfolio risk management, and estate planning.
I’m fortunate to work for a firm that encourages its employees to give back in ways that matter. I love volunteering as a pro bono advisor for Wings for Widows and serving on the board of the Boise Estate Planning Council. Giving my time to make our community a better place has become even more important since my husband, Michael, and I welcomed a beautiful little girl in 2023. My home life may not be as peaceful as it was when our household was just the two of us and our dog, Suai, but it’s bursting with joy and happiness. I want our clients to feel that fulfilled, too.
